Certainly not by asking such a general question! What DO you want? Be very specific. Be realistic. Find an ad with that 'perfect' job. Research it. Design a resume around it. (Try not to lie yourself into trouble!) More research. Who is offering those jobs? Agencies, job search engines, trade magazines, via personalnetwork,localpapers,etc. Now begin: Write/email/phone everyone. Generate leads. Customize and send resumes. Get the interviews! Its hard work. But it hasn't failed me yet!

If you're looking for a basic, nonqualified service-sector job, stay away from food service (except maybe waiter or receptionist at nice restauraunts), and look for something in an upscale place. Usually they pay better and the work is easier. Find a kind of job you want and search all over for openings in jobs like that, send them all a resume and call them to make sure they got it and express your interest. Most importantly, tell everyone you know you're looking for a job... usually someone knows someone who is looking for someone and that's a really easy way into a job.
