The best sort of marketing of course is viral marketing especially when the product is innovative, novel and comes at the right time. 2 factors: 1)Unique niche, new. 2) Value return to customers and users whether it be usefulness and/or monetary based.

One novel idea I witnessed was cabs (taxis) advertising on their hub caps. The advert stays stationary. Great for large cities with many cabs.

There is a dash mark on the road in marathons - I've often thought that the dashes could be replaced by a logo - the Nike logo would be ideal, I think.
