Innovative is putting together bits and peaces that have never been put together before. It often carries a positive sense, but that's not a rule, you can innovate something disastrous.

Innovative means thinking out of the box, a multidimensional perspective of things. Life is so innovative is'nt it?We view things in 3 dimensions and our skills and talents make it worth an experience. Innovativeness is precisely looking at things from different perspectives and getting them into the real life. So can we implement the strategies of a football game in a corporate scenario?...may be..this is innovation..

Something is innovative when it uses what we already have in a new way that allows for more than was possible before.

innovative ideas in communications need something to bright or new to hook up people, i.e. facebook, its not a new idea, but somehow they managed to show it as something attractive and 'cool'

Post by A.L. III : As for my take on the matter, the first two generally excite me when they are either pertinent to one of my interests, or particularly clever in general. I typically view the latter as a waste of time, but occasionally there can be cleverness in ingenuity too, no?

Post by A.L. II : Metaphysical innovation- A new or improved idea that is stimulates thought or reflection, but does not have a direct bearing on everyday life. (ie. philosophy in general, or inventions like the Rubik's cube perhaps) Novelty innovation- A new idea conceived simply for its newness or difference from what exists. (ie. a Rube Goldberg device)

A.L. : It seems to me that anything new (be it physical or conceptual) can be classified under different types of innovation. Some classifications that jump to mind: Practical innovation- A new idea or improvement on an idea that has an inherently productive application. (ie. saves time, improves standard of life, etc)

innovative its something that catch my attention with a few words and a small but clear idea! something simple that keep my mind wondering about it for the simpleness of itself.

When a lot of people sees there is a "TRUE USE FOR THE PRODUCT". And millions or billions of people use it everyday.

I think there's different types of innovation. Like something can be innovative because it's different from anything we know, or on the contrary because it's making parallels and relationships between things that are similar but that I didn't connect on my own...

I find innovative ideas make me feel excited, and make me want to try them out in my management (apply them). Also makes me curious to want to discover more.
