I think we should have a car that genetically uses the power of plants and solar power to create the eco friendly fuel needed and we add 15% of oil to create that biofuel needed for the car. Trust me i saw a video of a airline using plants and oil to fly and it went 30,000 ft. up in the air long time, too. But the solar power is used to turn on the lights,etc. Then the oil and plant mixture will be the eco-friendly biofuel that cars today need.

The best is an electric car with a solar (PV) rack that chartges the batteries. I would also have a small engine that runs off of biodiesel that maintains the batteries - basically the car runs on an electric motor powered by a battery - assisted by a biodiesel engine (a really small one), and the batteries are "self charging" via solar panels.

We have NEV now that go only about 25 miles per charge and only 25 mph. Their are a lot of other electric cars as well. What we need is large solar powered charging station at work and shoppings centers. If you could drive to work in your electric cars and charge it for free, then you would see at lot more people doing just that. I for one would do ever chance I had. Plus company's would love the PR

I think the best idea is a solar powered electric car. But it needs to be large enough to seat at least 4 and trunk space, or it will never replace the oil eating family car - which is what we need to do. Electric cars are genius! but to think ALL people would have constant access to a DC outlet is nutter butter! What is needed is a car large enough for families, and a simple recharge for cramped city dwellers and ppl in apts.. Make it 100% Solar panel and highway drivable (at least 85mph). :)

solar power would only propell a 1 ton car (as is small by US norms) for 1 mile per day, if it is sunny for 10 hours. A horse would do better on a bail of hay a day. Best solution is a BICYCLE ?
