What are ways to promote/make people comfortable at a speed dating venue?
According to the Pew Research Center married people are happier than unmarrieds. I feel a good way to get people out and meeting new people is a speed dating service. Traditionally they can be conceived more as a joke than anything else.

A speed dating meet where everyone is blindfolded. This would help to eliminate preconceptions and help people to find compatibility based on personality. If these meets are succesful, then publish the statistics to show how much of an improvement the new form of dating is over the 'normal'.
