Open Brainstorms

Name Some Creativity Techniques and the Experts Behind Them

I previously started a brainstorm where people could give their creativity tips. For this brainstorm I'd like to ask people to name their favourite specific techniques. Also, where possible, please name the expert who devised the technique and, as an option, name the books where you read of the technique. The aim of this exercise is to provide a resource of both techniques and authors for those of us who'd like to research and improve our creativity.
