Okay everyone here is the most effective solution hold a jamming day especially on friday when the workload is low and then during any period of the day stop the lift suddenly for 5 mins not more than that otherwise it might disrupt work. even strangers will come to know each other

Have an elevator free day or even stop at odd number floors one day and even numbers the next thus making employees use the satirs and gaining vital cardiovascular work outs

to communicate and improve the wellness of employees I would not suggest using an elevator, I would suggest an independent party interview the staff on what they think can be improved in the workplace, collate the data and present it to management and demand they make some changes. that was a nice way of saying the elevator is not the problem...

Put up caricatures of staff members

Create a survey - a kind of "getting to know you" survey. You randomly select an employee to complete the survey. Then, post that person's completed survey in the elevator. (Something that has occured to me recently is how little I know about the employees at my company and I am often pleasantly surprised to find out that they have similar interests.)

Have a link to an elevator in another company and allow people to chat to each other by phone or chat-room.

Have a whiteboard (like on idea 2) but ask people to write jokes. Collect the best at the end of a year and compile a book to sell to employees (and their family/friends) to raise money for a local charity.

Allow a local company to advertise in the elevator and in return they can provide samples of products to try in the elevator.

Rip out the elevator and provide poles to slide down like in fire stations.

Rip out the electrics and make an elevator that is human-powered! Maybe by a small exercise-type bike.
