I think the key is something like the high speed magnetic bullet trains that Japan and other countries are developing and using. Public transit that's more efficient and less polluting than planes and cars for shorter distances. This has to be linked with better urban development - communities where you can walk to the store or ride a bike to get around. Wonderful technology should be used in conjunction with healthier living and more exercise.

not too different from what we currently have, as we do not yet have the technology to install anti gravity units - (hovercraft doesn't count in this instance) we have the ability to fit all other types of sensors and controls

Dashboards will be holographically projected onto the front window and can be custom-designed and changed with the click of a mouse (except we won't have mice then)

Car rooftops will be solar collectors that add power to basic motorized functions.

Memory foam seats will adjust to your shape as your car recognizes you.

Highways will have side rails that cars will be magnetically drawn to. The rails will be powered by the momentum of the car wheels as the cars that are magnetically linked turn. It will have eco-friendly power boosters that can boost the power as needed.

They will have magnetic polarization on the front and rear ends to allow cars to link up on the highways (like Thomas the train does with his cars)

Doors will slide open rather than out.

It will have an hourglass-rocket shape.
