How do you theme an event around the idea of a "home"?
We are planning a vision night for the church, and our vision uses the metaphor of a home. I need ideas of how to theme the night using that image of a house (i.e. staging; place settings; published materials etc..). Creativity is a must.

If the meeting is being held in the sanctuary/gym/wherever, make it look like the front of a house/entry. Put a fence out and around the door area, add some potted plants, an awning, welcome mat, etc. It feels like they are walking into their home as they walk into the room where the event is being held. Build a porch, maybe. Have some lawn furniture in the lobby, a rocking chair, swing, etc. :)

Bake and break bread together - each attendee takes some home. Or, have enough Amish Bread starter mix for some people to take home and then pass along to their friends or church neighbors with an instruction card...made in the kitchen of XYZ church with the hope you will come to break bread with us on Sunday...
