Open Brainstorms
How can I get more people to sign up for my e-mail newsletter?
I work at a large association and we produce several newsletters for our members. I want to increase the number of subscriptions by 25%.

Is your goal to increase new (paying members) or to increase the number of newsletters you send to your existing members? How does reading your newsletter help the reader? Does it educate? entertain? disseminate? Your offerings must have concrete benefits to the reader. Also - if your goal is to increase revenue, you can also increase the membership fee (if any) of the newsletter (if you can justify its worth).

Based on your screen name, I would suggest telling them that if they sign up for your newsletter all of their wildest dreams will come true. ;)

Profile the subscribing recruiter
8.
Give a reward for the current subscriber that recruits the most new subscribers
7.
Have them submit their own content to you and get their colleagues to sign up to see their published article.
6.
Have people brainstorm the content here that they would like to see.
5.
At every event that you organize for the association, show on a projector screen your latest newsletter copy to demonstrate that its interesting and valuable and then invite people to sign up right there on a sheet of paper or something.
4.
tell in the newsletter what is on the website many days after
3.
Click on the Invite People link above, and invite all your association members to come to this brainstorm and add their ideas on what would make them sign up for the newsletter.

The problem is not with content, it's with sign-up, right napdynamite? Getting people to sign-up for something is difficult especially when they're not interested. You have to target an audience to promote your newsletter to them. People just visiting your site or blog aren't just going to want your newsletter. You have to show them before they sign-up that the information you provide to them is useful and genuine. This takes some design and content knowledge but can be done with minimal efforts

Hi, Hope You and family are fine. First of all You need to look into the problem areas as to why still You are not near 80% range. May be by creating interesting and sometimes giving away prices etc in each newsletter You can get good results. Also try to put in things to motivate people to write back to You. I hope this is of some help to You. Take care, regards.
