I'd invest it; 80k is too little to risk on most business ventures - especially if it is a major portion of your net worth. The suggestions here are fine if it is 10% or less of your net worth - otherwise, keep working and let it grow undisturbed in a mutual fund

Read the Motley Fool's Investment Guide. Understand it. Then, and only then, decide what to do with your money. (in the meanwhile, that money should be in a BANK account).
3.
Buy a business that you understand and have an interest in. For example, you could buy a bakery if you liked it and check the financials if it makes sense and would return what you want per month.

What if you invested the $80k in a mutual fund in India. Average growth in Indian mutual finds was 53% because of the growing economy. Even after tax that will give you more than $2k per month to live on.
